Vinod has about 30 years of experience in industry spanning strategy, innovation, project development and management, marketing, foreign collaboration, and corporate social responsibility.

Currently he is a senior advisor to the Satyam Foundation, and is responsible for creating alliances and partnerships to facilitate Satyam’s CSR efforts. He represents the Foundation on several CSR forums, including CII, Assocham, and FICCI, and is a member of the Business & Community Foundation’s Governing Board. He is an assessor for the Business World-FICCI-SEDF CSR Awards and the India NGO Awards.

Vinod is also the Executive Director of MSIA Pvt. Ltd., which is a thirty-five year old firm of industrial, business and marketing consultants operating out of New Delhi and Boston. He helps clients with project identification, feasibility studies, foreign collaborations, and project implementation, and advises them on market strategies, Environment protection and waste management.

He was responsible for the introduction of ‘soft-squeeze’ tube technology in India (for toothpastes, make-up, ointments, etc.) through the Essel Group’s multi-layered lamina-tubes project in Maharashtra. He also helped introduce alumina fibres-based high-temperature insulating materials in India through the Rajgharia Group’s Orient Cerwool venture.

He was also actively involved in the introduction of white light emitting diode (WLED) technology in India. Some 3,000 tribal households in Andhra Pradesh benefited from the low-cost solar powered home lighting solution. The project was put into operation by the Government of India’s Ministry of Tribal Affairs in collaboration with Canada’s Light up the World Foundation, and Hyderabad’s Think Soft Consultants Pvt. Ltd. and Centre for Environment Concern.

Vinod was also closely associated with CEC and the Government’s Food Security Program in AP’s Zahirabad District, and helped design and implement solutions for marginal farmers and women’s self-help groups.

He has designed several livelihood projects for Tsunami survivors in the Cuddalore and Nagappatinam Districts of Tamil Nadu, and for the Kashmir Earthquake survivors around Uri in the Baramula District of Jammu and Kashmir.

Vinod has headed Iycon Chemical's speciality chemicals plant for over seven years and has marketed various industrial chemicals. He was also closely associ­ated with Network Telecommunication Systems, and spearheaded their marketing operations in North and South India.

He has authored, published and presented several international papers on, among others, Environment protection, better utilisation of industrial wastes, and mitigating the affects of Global Warming and the population explosion.

Vinod has a Master’s degree in Commerce and a in Business Administration. He also holds certificates in electronic data processing, and in software programming on Java, Visual Basic, XML, COBOL, ASP, and SQL Server platforms. He has co-designed, developed and deployed many of MSIA’s in-house computer programs.
