SCORE FOUNDATION
ASSOCIATION OF CRICKET FOR THE BLIND
(ACBI)
SCORE Society for Communication and Research was started by
George Abraham to conduct workshops on communication and personality
development for the corporates. By about 2000 the society got
disbanded and has now been converted into a trust chaired by Mr
George Abraham.
ACBI was set up with a mission to popularize cricket for the
blind across the country headed by Mr George Abraham. ACBI is
directly responsible for the zonal and national level cricket
tournaments. The endeavour is to evolve an annual cricket calendar
that includes opportunities for the players to fine tune skills,
participate in tournaments and also in regular international events.
ACBI is also the moving spirit behind the World Cup Cricket for the
blind that was staged in India in 1998 and 2002.
SCORE FOUNDATION has launched Project Eyeway, a comprehensive
information centre on the eye with both offline and online
components. Eyeway has initiated a website-eyeway.org. Eyeway
'Inform' channel offers information ranging from eyecare to products
and services, education to career information and updates on sports
and various acts and policies that empower persons with visual
impairment.
Eyeway 'Inspires' is a section on personality
development that carries inspirational accounts by persons with
visual impairments where they reveal their approach to life and
success mantras. The 'Inclusion' section is a participatory section,
a forum that provides space for discussion on various issues.
