A voluntary organization of parents and professionals
established in 1982. Its two fold objectives include; one to empower
the parents through emotional support and appropriate information
and secondly to provide comprehensive education and training to
mentally challenged children and adults. At the special unit of
potential development programme severely challenged boys and girls
are helped in developing daily living and adaptive skills.
At the vocational training centre skills are provided in block
printing, making stationary items, mass mailing, packaging, office
management etc. Children at the vocational centre are given a
stipend of 350 rupees per month. Graduates from vocational training
centre are being provided with opportunities of employment at
Muskaan work centre. Sports, yoga, art & craft, theatre,
excursion form part of the extra curricular activities at Muskaan.
At present there are 60 children at Muskaan and most of them come
from middle class families.
